Sports Massage Therapy

What can massage do for me?

As a keen cyclist, whether you race, tour or ride purely for pleasure, do you strive to get the best out of both your body and your equipment? If the answer is “yes” then you will undoubtedly benefit from regular massage. As well as cyclists, massage benefits other athletes and  anybody else with aches and pains from everyday life.

What is Sports Massage Therapy?

Massage is safe, non-intrusive, non-toxic and has been around since the dawn of mankind itself. Modern Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy combines ancient and modern therapy skills with a scientific understanding of how the body functions creating a very versatile method of treatment with wide ranging benefits.

The main benefits of regular Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy are:

  • Enhanced performance – by improving the flexibility and operation of soft tissue
  • Prevention of injury – by alleviating stress and tension that can build up in the body's soft tissues
  • Pre-event readiness – by stimulating the muscles and relaxing the mind, helping the athlete reach the start line in the best possible shape
  • Post-event warm down – by helping to speed up the recovery process by easing muscle tension and flushing out toxins
  • Rehabilitation from injury – by safely and effectively treating minor soft tissue injuries
  • Mental relaxation – massage works on many levels and can help alleviate mental stress through deep relaxation
